The work method by a defunct Launceston electrical business was “agricultural at best” a Launceston Magistrate said in handing down a $7000 fine for two breaches of workplace safety laws. Artec Synergy Pty Ltd pleaded guilty in the Launceston Magistrates Court to charges in relation to a fall from a ladder by one of its employees in November 2018 when installing a CCTV system. Magistrate Simon Brown said that significant injuries occurred when the employee fell onto a concrete floor.
