The Examiner will host an exclusive Northern debate between the two candidates for premier of Tasmania. The debate between Premier Peter Gutwein and Opposition Leader Rebecca will be held on April 22 in Launceston. The debate will be one of few public forums between the two leaders vying to be premier during the election campaign. “The North, particularly Bass and Lyons, has been crucial in delivering a majority government in the past,” editor Courtney Greisbach said. “It’s very important that voters in these electorates hear firsthand from the two leaders, one of whom will be Tasmania’s next premier.” Six of 10 seats in these electorates are held by the Liberals.
